Wavertree

Living around Smithdown Road and Greenbank

Wavertree is the beating heart of Liverpool’s student community. With a vibrant social scene and a huge number of drinking hotspots and eateries to choose from, it also has excellent transport links to all universities and is particularly convenient for University of Liverpool students based at the main campus.

For those sunny spring days, our Wavertree student homes are within easy walking distance of several parks for some al fresco study time or fitness activities. Wavertree Park is home of the Liverpool Tennis Centre, Lifestyles Sports Park with a swimming pool and all-weather football pitches and Wavertree Athletics Centre. Smithdown Road runs right through Wavertree and provides all the amenities you may need from a practical perspective: a choice of supermarkets, hairdressers, health centres, pharmacies and more.

Wavertree FAQs

Is Wavertree a safe area for students?

Yes, LSH’s Wavertree accommodation sits in the middle of one of Liverpool’s most densely populated student areas. The streets are busy and well-lit, but our student houses in Wavertree take your safety a step further.

All of our properties are fitted with burglar and smoke alarms as standard, plus we also provide a 24/7 emergency line, so professional support is just a phone call away.

How far is Wavertree from the University of Liverpool and LJMU?

Stay in one of our Wavertree student homes this term time, and you’ll be just 1.5 miles away from city-centre campuses. The area is well-connected: a short 15–20-minute ride on routes like the 86, 699, or 79 (which run regularly).

Can I book a house with a large group of friends?

Absolutely! Wavertree is an excellent area for large groups. We have a wide selection of properties all the way up to 9-bed houses, so you can comfortably live with friends while enjoying plenty of personal space.

Do I need a deposit to book a room in Wavertree?

Not always! We know that finding a large upfront sum can be difficult.

For that reason, we offer a ‘NoPosit’ scheme where, instead of a traditional refundable deposit (which can be hundreds of pounds), you can opt to pay a smaller, non-refundable membership fee to secure your room.
